On Being - Ars Poetica #100: I Believe

Poet Elizabeth Alexander reads her poem about what poetry is and why it matters, brought to life with gouache paintings animated across the pages of her own book.

A one-minute gem: every frame is hand-painted onto the pages of the poet's own book as she reads her ode to the human voice.

An animation for On Being as part of their new series sharing poetry with the world. Based on the poem "Ars Poetica #100: I Believe", written and read by Elizabeth Alexander.
