Beles
Directed by Gebar · Starring Aginy Teklu, Zerue Haile, Teddy Desbelle, Merhawi Habtay · 2017
Based on a true story: an Eritrean boy and his friends wake up every morning to gather beles, a prized cactus fruit, from the mountains around their village.
A warm, rare glimpse of childhood in rural Eritrea, told with a light comic touch.
