Bottled History

A former shipwright and merchant sailor shows the painstaking art of building ships inside bottles, a craft he has honed for six decades.

A gentle, meditative portrait of a lifelong sailor squeezing whole ships into glass bottles.

Ray Gascoigne has been around boats his whole life, as a shipwright, a merchant sailor, and now as a ship builder on the smallest dry dock there is: a bottle. This short film, by Smith Journal and Melbourne-based product
