Chelsea Manning Had Secrets

Directed by Adam Butcher · Starring Angus Dunican, Danny Mahoney · 2012

Built from real chat logs with Adrian Lamo, an animated portrait of Chelsea Manning as a young soldier facing crises of conscience and gender identity.

Real online conversations turned into a strikingly intimate animated portrait of a whistleblower.

An animated insight into Chelsea Manning, not as a Wikileaks 'hacktivist', but as a young American soldier simultaneously going through a crisis-of-conscience and a crisis-of-gender-identity.
