CITY OF GOLD
Directed by Wolf Koenig, Colin Low · Starring Pierre Berton · 1957
Narrated by Pierre Berton, who grew up in Dawson City, the film uses old photographs to bring back the Klondike gold rush and the thousands who braved brutal conditions chasing a fortune.
The pioneering archival-photo documentary whose slow pans across still images inspired the famous 'Ken Burns effect.'
