From Dad to Son

Directed by Nils Knoblich · 2012

Through letters exchanged across prison walls, a father passes a timeless lesson to his son, retold as an Aesop fable in paper.

Meticulous papercraft stop-motion turns an ancient fable into a moving, wordless father-son story.

Screened at more than 150 international film festivals and honored with 12 awards, From Dad To Son is a handcrafted stop-motion short inspired by Aesop’s timeless fable “The Father and His Sons” (600 B.C.).
