Jane
Directed by Smriti Thakur · Starring Akanksha Hajari, Mithila · 2021
A curious young woman in lower-middle-class Mumbai tries a menstrual cup for the first time and, unable to talk about it, panics as a small problem balloons in her head.
A candid, warmly comic look at period taboos that's rarely seen on screen.
'Jane' was awarded the Honourable Jury Mention at the 11th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival '21.
