New Boy
From the director of The Book of Boba Fett
Directed by Steph Green · Starring Olutunji Ebun-Cole, Simon O'Driscoll, Fionn O'Shea, Sinead Maguire · 2007
On his first day at an Irish primary school, a quiet boy from Rwanda faces teasing classmates, while flashes of his life back home reveal what he has already survived.
An Oscar-nominated gem from a Roddy Doyle story, by turns funny and heartbreaking, seen through a child's eyes.
The new kid in class looks different—he's from Rwanda—and when the other kids start to tease him, it calls up memories of a violent past.
