POILUS

Directed by Guillaume Auberval, Léa Dozoul, Simon Gomez, Timothé Hek, Hugo Lagrange, Antoine Laroye, David Lashcari · 2016

As French soldiers wait in the trenches, a young hare named Ferdinand plays his harmonica—until the attack begins and he meets a horrifying creature in no man's land.

A polished French student animation reimagining the WWI trenches through an anthropomorphic, unexpectedly moving lens.
