Refugee Blues
Directed by Stephan Bookas, Tristan Daws · 2016
W. H. Auden's poem "Refugee Blues" plays over footage of the Calais "Jungle" refugee camp. Words written about the 1930s meet a modern crisis.
Auden's 1939 poem gains new force against present-day images of the Calais camp.
