Das Rad (Rocks)

Directed by Chris Stenner, Arvid Uibel, Heidi Wittlinger · Starring Rainer Basedow, Michael Habeck · 2001

Two bickering rocks on a hillside pass what feels to them like an ordinary afternoon, while human civilization races through centuries of progress around them.

An Oscar-nominated student gem that compresses all of human progress into a stone's lazy afternoon, with dry, deadpan wit.

What we see as centuries of progress—two rocks see as just another passing afternoon.
