The Book Witch

Directed by Karolina Zebrowska · Starring Gosia Zebrowska, Karolina Zebrowska · 2018

A playful Halloween pastiche of a 1900s silent trick film, in which a witch and her book conjure old-fashioned in-camera magic.

A loving homage to Méliès-style trick films, made with the same charmingly simple practical effects.

jk, it's actually 2018. we honoured our spooky October short film tradition with this silly little piece, using practical effects that are lame to us nowadays but were absolutely magical and unexplainable back in 1900s.
