Two Sisters

Directed by Caroline Leaf · Starring Kathleen Fee, Michael Rudder, Jane Woods · 1991

Two sisters live in near-total isolation on an island, bound by a tense, discordant routine, until a visitor's arrival threatens to break their closed world open.

Etched directly onto film stock, Caroline Leaf's eerie chamber piece turns isolation and sibling dependence into haunting, shimmering imagery.

The isolated world of two sisters is shattered when a visitor arrives to their island threatening to break their discordant harmony.
