I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died

Directed by Lynn Tomlinson · Starring Melissa Miller · 1989

Emily Dickinson's famous poem about a fly buzzing at the moment of death, rendered in eerie clay-on-glass animation.

A haunting under-the-camera clay animation of one of Dickinson's most famous poems, under two minutes.

An eerie adaptation of the Emily Dickinson poem, told from after death. Created in clay-on-glass animation. This was my first film in this technique, made in 1989. - Lynn Tomlinson
