Withdraw

Reportage illustrator George Butler sketches daily life in Afghanistan as foreign troops withdraw after thirteen years of occupation.

Live drawings offer a rare, humane view of Afghanistan beyond the war headlines.

This is not a story about war, or poppy cultivation or even the ongoing governmental issues that have been so prevalent in Afghanistan’s more recent history.
